Gabriel Sévigny-Ferland
Articling student

Articling student at the firm since November 2019, Gabriel completed his studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal, initially in urban studies where he was particularly interested in direct democracy processes and urban policy prior to studying law.

Dedicated to using law as a tool of social progress, he was particularly interested in environmental law, housing law, municipal law and labour law during his studies. He was also awarded second best oralist in the Pierre-Basil Mignault moot at which his team participated in the final round.

Gabriel is involved in his community, first through his work with a community roundtable on housing issues, gentrification and urban planning. He was also a member of the collective who led the fight to get Bâtiment 7 – a heritage industrial building – for the benefit of the larger community. Gabriel is also a co-founder of Le Détour, a self-managed grocery store in Pointe-Saint-Charles, and acts as president of the board of directors.
